# Guide: Enabling Kiosk Mode on iOS & Android for a Specific Website

Kiosk Mode locks a device to a single app or website, preventing users from exiting or using other applications. This is useful for public displays, interactive kiosks, or business use cases.

### **iOS (iPhone & iPad) - Guided Access & Single App Mode**

#### **Method 1: Using Guided Access (Best for Basic Kiosk Mode)**

Guided Access temporarily restricts the device to a single app, such as Safari, to open a website.

**Steps to Enable Guided Access**

1. **Enable Guided Access:**
   * Open **Settings** > **Accessibility** > **Guided Access**.
   * Toggle **Guided Access ON**.
   * Tap **Passcode Settings** > **Set Guided Access Passcode** (or use Face ID/Touch ID).
2. **Open the Website in Safari:**
   * Launch **Safari** and navigate to the desired website (e.g., `https://yourwebsite.com`).
3. **Activate Guided Access:**
   * Triple-press the **Side/Home button** to start Guided Access.
   * Tap **Options** and disable buttons or features as needed.
   * Tap **Start** to lock the screen.
4. **Exiting Guided Access:**
   * Triple-press the **Side/Home button**.
   * Enter the passcode and tap **End**.

#### **Method 2: Using Single App Mode (Best for Enterprise & Permanent Kiosk Mode)**

Single App Mode is more restrictive than Guided Access but requires **Apple Configurator or MDM (Mobile Device Management)**.

**Steps to Enable Single App Mode**

1. **Prepare the iOS Device:**
   * The device must be **Supervised** using **Apple Configurator** or **MDM**.
2. **Use Apple Configurator (Mac Required):**
   * Connect the device to a Mac with **Apple Configurator 2** installed.
   * Select the device, click **Actions > Advanced > Start Single App Mode**.
   * Choose **Safari** or a kiosk browser to lock the device.
3. **Configure MDM (If Available):**
   * Use an MDM solution (e.g., Jamf, Intune) to enforce Single App Mode with a **Web Clip** pointing to the website.

### **Android - Using Kiosk Mode**

#### **Method 1: Using Screen Pinning (Basic Kiosk Mode for Browsing Only)**

Screen Pinning is the easiest way to lock an Android device to a specific app (like Chrome).

**Steps to Enable Screen Pinning**

1. **Enable Screen Pinning:**
   * Go to **Settings** > **Security** > **Advanced Settings** > **Screen Pinning**.
   * Toggle **ON** Screen Pinning and enable **Ask for PIN before unpinning**.
2. **Open Chrome and Navigate to Website:**
   * Launch **Chrome** and go to `https://yourwebsite.com`.
3. **Pin Chrome:**
   * Open **Recent Apps** (Swipe up or press the Overview button).
   * Tap the **Pin icon** on the Chrome window.
4. **Unpin Chrome (Exit Kiosk Mode):**
   * Hold **Back + Home** (or enter PIN if required).

#### **Method 2: Using a Kiosk App (Best for Full Kiosk Mode)**

For a more permanent solution, use third-party apps to enforce Kiosk Mode.

**Steps to Use a Kiosk App (Fully Locks Device to One Website)**

1. **Download a Kiosk App:**
   * Install **SureLock Kiosk Lockdown**, **Kiosk Browser**, or **Fully Kiosk Browser** from the **Google Play Store**.
2. **Set the Website as Default:**
   * Open the Kiosk app and enter admin settings.
   * Set `https://yourwebsite.com` as the **start-up page**.
3. **Lock the Device to Kiosk Mode:**
   * Enable **lockdown settings** to prevent users from exiting.
4. **Exit Kiosk Mode:**
   * Access admin settings (usually by entering a secret PIN or password).
