# How Beehive works

**Beehive** is a software application that records who is present in a facility at any given time. This is done through active check-in and check-out by users via a terminal (tablet) at the entrance.<br>

* Parents and staff register their presence at the daycare center, e.g., via QR code.
* A traffic light system controls access.
* Management can view the data in real time and make adjustments to staffing levels (even from a home office).
* Parents stay informed about the facility’s status through the parent view (link).
